SRVUSD Danville Directory
The San Ramon Valley Unified School District staff directory is the largest education directory serving Danville. The district covers Danville, Alamo, Blackhawk, Diablo, San Ramon including Dougherty Valley, and small portions of Walnut Creek and Pleasanton. Research notes identify 36 schools and more than 32,000 TK-12 students, so this directory is broader than the town boundary.
SRVUSD school lists include sites such as San Ramon Valley High, Monte Vista High, Charlotte Wood Middle, Diablo Vista Middle, Green Valley, John Baldwin, Montair, Vista Grande, and many other schools. County and State Directories
The Contra Costa County staff directory and county department pages help identify the county office or employee unit that handles a Danville question. The Contra Costa County Office of Education also has a staff directory, and the county health system has public provider and staff listings in some areas. For state offices, the research did not locate one single official California employee phone book URL, so use agency websites and department directories rather than inventing a statewide directory source.
These public staff directories are useful when a name belongs to a public role. They are not proof of residence. A Danville public-records request, permit question, election issue, or county service question may require finding the correct office first, and staff directories often do that faster than a records index.

Note: Vacant land may lack a street address, so the APN is often the better directory key.

The California State Library genealogy resources and Contra Costa research guide flag city directories as a way to trace people and locations, but exact Danville city-directory years were not located in the inspected official sources.
The Danville directory era is also geographic. Before incorporation, records may say San Ramon Valley, Alamo-Danville, township, precinct, or Contra Costa County. The Museum of the San Ramon Valley is the most local archive for Danville families, businesses, photos, artifacts, and San Ramon Valley history. That is not a dead end. Ask the California State Library, Contra Costa County Library, Museum of the San Ramon Valley, and Contra Costa Historical Society about phone books, city directories, yearbooks, resident files, and reverse directories. For a modern official name, use the staff, license, recorder, business, court, custody, or voter directory that matches the person's public role.
